Operational Creativity
School operations are often buried in systems that are driven by jaded ideas and fear about stakeholder empowerment, student autonomy, and choice. School bells? Why? School design and construction by the same institutional architects responsible for building prisons? That should be a hard no. Unfortunately, it's frighteningly common. We center students in reimagining schools so that operational functions, while structured, reflect a spirit of freedom, anti-oppression, and joy. School Leadership Artistry
Antheses believes that school leaders should envision schools as works of art that they conceptualize and then collaborate with their teams to render. An apt metaphor for this kind of leadership is the principal as a muralist creating educational community art that is responsive to the cultures in the school community and adds beauty and value to the community where the school lives.
